ABSTRACT: Policymakers in Singapore strongly believe that healthcare is primarily an individual responsibility though the government will ensure that everyone has access to necessary care.

The belief has been under increasing stress as costs of medical care rise, necessitating expansion of government and insurance financing.

The talk will discuss how Singapore is tackling the health financing challenges it faces and the lessons the experience offers to other countries.
